Hundreds of students gathered at the Arrarya Center yesterday to compete for the top three winning spots in the second annual 'Battle of the Best 2' competition organized by INJAZ Kuwait, under the patronage and attendance of Her Excellency Mrs. Noreya Al Sabih, the Minister of Education.

The title of the Best INJAZ Kuwait Company for the year 2007 went to running company Green Target (G.T.C) who were presented with an award of 5,000KD, presented by Gulf Bank. The running company R Generation received the second place award of 2,500KD, presented by Wataniya Telecom. The running company Pick N Stick took the third place award of 1,000KD, presented by Alghanim electronics. These winners emerged the top three out of the 25 participating teams from different schools around Kuwait. Those competing had a chance to present, before a panel of judges, their virtual company, strategic business plan and their business results. To be among the top three, company members had to demonstrate that they understand the how's and why's of their company's success, and at the same time show innovation and dedication to their product or services.

“I want to congratulate the winning teams on a great job done. I also want to commend all the students for their hard work and effort. At INJAZ, we believe that innovation is important to business success. Top businesses figures in Kuwait, such as the CEO of Mabanee, Ms. Fatema Al Bader; Managing Partner of Peppers & Rogers Group, Mr. Amine Jabali; Schlumberger Operational Manager, Mr. Maen M. Razouqi; Founding Partner of Pan Arab Consulting Engineers, Mr. Sabah Al Raies and the Business Development Manager of Hamad Al Wazzan & Partners, Mr. Dhari H. Al Wazzan were invited to judge the competition. These respected individuals and their different corporate backgrounds and experiences proved vital in judging the various facets of the competition,” said Rana Kamshad, Executive Director of INJAZ Kuwait. “We also want to thank our Gold Sponsors - Wataniya Telecom and Manpower & Government Restructuring Program, our Silver Sponsors: Arabian Motors Group: Hamad M Al Wazzan & Partners, Al Homaizi Group, Gulf Bank and Al Ghanim Electronics for the relentless support. Truly, they made this competition possible. It is the support of Kuwait’s business community that fosters the development of the Kuwaiti youth.”

During the competition, judges looked for evidence of innovation, successful exploitation of new ideas in all aspects of running the company and an understanding that originality is essential to the success of a business. There was also equal emphasis laid out for creativity and enthusiasm at each stage of the judging process, including effective communication, team work, skills and understanding, problem solving, customer focus, marketing and sales and product development. As well as, the overall corporate structure and organization.

“Based on the criteria given to the judges, every student at the competition has done a phenomenal job developing their miniature companies and presenting them to the panel,” commented Omar Alghanim, INJAZ Kuwait Board Chairman. “We want to congratulate the winning teams on their success during the competition. We also want to applaud all the contestants on their hard work. We are very proud of all their achievements during the INJAZ program and at this competition in particular. What these students are capable of is more than just a business plan with some added profit – they are capable of strong analytical thinking, true team work and outstanding results. What we have seen here today is more than just a competition – it is an example of hard work, dedication and Kuwait’s bright future from our younger generation. INJAZ is very proud of these students. And today, Kuwait is very proud of each and every single one of these students.”
