| Banks in action in collaboration with LOYAC

INJAZ Kuwait and LOYAC joined together this year in implementing the Banks in action program. From the Banks in Action program students learned the fundamentals of the banking industry and then had the opportunity to apply what they learned in a competitive environment using the Banks in Action computer simulation. Through the simulation, students formed banking teams and operated a bank over time by making several decisions, each of which represents three months or a calendar quarter. Competing banks are doing the same thing and the banks start out on an equal basis. The banking team that developed the best strategy and makes a greater profit than its competitors is the winner, earning the title "Bank of Choice."
LOYAC provided a volunteer from the Commercial bank of Kuwait as well as students who signed up through them.
Students had a chance to operate a bank and were responsible for managing all the money in it. They learnt how bankers make decisions and practiced making banking decisions themselves. The most successful bankers were those who created a winning strategy to best serve their customers and increase profits by managing the banks assets and liabilities against others competing in the market.
